One Year
One year ago, we were wrapping up shooting at the “restaurant” (Riverside Community Church)! Time sure flies, doesn’t it?

Precious Treasure now has its own listing on the Internet Movie Database!
Yes, I know… One of the cast members is credited wrong. A correction has been submitted, and the error will hopefully be fixed in the next couple of weeks.

I keep getting asked the question, “When are we getting our DVDs?”
The answer to that question is soon, very soon. After trying to get the final bonus item for the DVD done, I’ve finally decided to lay it aside for the sake of getting the project done (it’s been over a year since this project was started… can you believe it???).
I guess the lesson I’ve learned from this is that: 1) I need to get extra features started much, much earlier, and 2) I need to delegate the job of getting the logistics together to someone else.
But at any rate, this means that the final DVD will be done very soon. The festival edition is still on sale for $5.00 shipped on the webstore, and until those are gone, the price will be $5.00. After that, the price will go up to $10.00, shipped.
I’ll be doing one last pass at the DVD design to tweak a couple things before sending it off for duplication again; hopefully the final product will be available in the next couple or three weeks!

I just posted an article on my main blog in which I talk about depth-of-field and some of the things I did to get better (or in some cases… worse…) depth-of-field in shots. Check it out here!

Well, now that the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival is over, I have 30 DVDs that need to be sold! The only difference between these festival editions and the final edition is that these are missing a bonus feature that has yet to be made.
Since I’d like to get rid of these DVDs before I begin selling the final editions (hopefully within the month), I’m marking them down to $5 a piece.

The film festival edition of the DVDs have arrived! They will be for sale during the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival, eight dollars a piece (lower price due to a bonus feature that will eventually be made and put on the final DVD).

As a Christmas gift to all those who have been following the progress of this film (and anyone else who happens to run across this website), I’m releasing the Precious Treasure soundtrack as a free download. It doesn’t contain the whole thing, because some of it just isn’t all that great as listening music… And I know that the rest of the music I composed isn’t the most phenomenal stuff in the world, but at any rate, here it is. This collection also includes three pieces by Kevin McLeod (see the Read-Me in the download folder for more info).
Download it here!

At this moment, I’m burning my first proof copy of the DVD. Unfortunately, however, this edition of the DVD will not be the final one… This is a limited edition which is being specifically made for sale at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival and elsewhere until I get the final DVD complete. All that’s needed to complete the DVD is a documentary, and it’s looking like that won’t be done till January.
One of my favorite parts of making DVDs is the graphic design aspect. It took me an hour and a half, but the DVD menus are about where I want them now, and I just need to finish the print media design.
Here’re a few pics that I’m working with in the design elements:
