Just a quick update on the DVD project… I’m currently compiling the various video components that will be put onto the DVD. Here’s what I have so far:
Precious Treasure
Behind the Scenes
3D Animation of the menu (from the restaurant scene)
Official Trailer
Still no documentary… I’m waiting to hear back from a potential interviewee about setting up a date to do the interview. Please pray that the Lord will work these things out to His glory!
Progress is being made towards the end goal of getting the DVD project done! Today, I completed the final polish of the Behind-the-Scenes feature, finishing up the last of the color-correction and audio levels.
I hope to have a better idea of when the DVD will be done and copies in hand sometime within the next three weeks or so.
I’ve been working on trying to make it possible for the DVD to be pre-ordered (and just plain “ordered” once I get the physical DVDs) using PayPal, debit, or credit. Well, it’s now possible for that to be done.
For more info, and to order the DVD, please see the DVD page.
Please let me know if you have any questions, or have any problems, please let me know!
I know, I know… I’ve been terrible about updating this site lately… Sorry!
So what’s going on with the Precious Treasure project now? Well, it’s moving forward, slowly… It’s a bit ironic how all throughout this project things haven’t been turning out the way I had originally planned for them to be, but rather how God has worked them out to be. And that’s the way it should be, really.
I had big hopes and dreams of making two short documentaries for the DVD as bonus features, both of their subjects being on key issues that are dealt with in the movie, such as purity, guarding one’s heart, and modesty. So after much dreaming and plotting and planning, I have… Well, kinda… Nothing to show for it.
Thus, I was considering finishing up the behind-the-scenes documentary, getting a couple trailers together, taping a short “word from the producer” type thing, and putting it all on the DVD to call it done. That’s what I was thinking. But now, much thanks to the Lord, things are looking quite the opposite… I’d rather not say much now, in case the Lord directs in a different direction, but there may be some exciting news in the near future about a bonus feature for the DVD.
That being said, it’s my goal to have the DVD wrapped up and hard copies in hand by January 1st, 2009. So to all you crew, cast, and prayer team members (and all who pre-ordered the DVD at the premiere, of course!): it’s coming! Don’t think I forgot about it!
Please keep the project in your prayers as I keep moving forward with it… Pray that God’s will be done, that He will be honored, and that people’s lives will be touched.
Well, the premiere happened last night, and I think everyone who went had a great time! I’d like to do a little longer post on it, so I won’t say much more for now, except that the DVDs are officially available on pre-order. See the DVD page for the details.
After much waiting, both on my part and the part of cast members, crew members, prayer team members, and others interested in the project, the premiere event has finally been scheduled. Here’re the details:
WHEN: Friday, November 14th, 2008, 7:00 PM WHERE: The Gateway Building, Peoria (200 N. E. Water Street, Peoria, IL)
Parking: I am told that there are four different parking lots in the vicinity of the building that are open after 5:00 PM.
The Agenda:Precious Treasure will, Lord willing, be screening slightly after 7:00 PM. The Behind the Scenes video, which will be an exclusive premiere cut (the DVD one will be shorter), will be screening sometime around 7:25 PM. This will run until around 8:00, at which time we might have a short Q&A session (if anyone has any questions, that is!), and then have time to visit with everyone before we have to be out of the building at 9:00 PM.
Shell Bluff Pre-Screening: Want to see the Green Peas Productions/Stembridge Mill documentary Shell Bluff? Come at 6:30 for an exclusive pre-screening!
I completed the first full rough cut of the behind-the-scenes video yesterday. As of today, it’s about thirty-eight minutes long… So what I’ve decided to do is to have two cuts of it: the premiere cut (which will contain more of the inside jokes for the enjoyment of cast and crew members that will be present), and the DVD cut. I’m going to shoot for getting it down around twenty-five minutes or less for the DVD.
It’s so hard to know what to include and what to cut out… If, a couple days ago, I hadn’t gone through the footage that I had compiled, the video would be almost an hour!
So anyway, the BTS is just about done; only a bit more color-correction, cutting out some footage, and an overall polish.
